When words are heavier than physical wounds

A sentence or statement said in anger can’t be unheard. The words hit their target and they wound.

Not a surface wound.

A wound that runs deep.

These words replay long after they have landed.

You don’t just move on.

You replay them over and over.

You shrink inside.

You disconnect.

The trust is broken.

You no longer feel emotionally safe.

In a sense you feel betrayed by the person you trusted the most.

Your pain is real.

You’re not overreacting.

Your pain does not deserve to be minimised.

You are not alone. There is support.

There is empathy and understanding.

If you would like to come in to unpack what you’re feeling; if you would like your partner to come in to allow them to hear how their words have impacted you in a safe place, my doors are open over the holidays.
