Reactive abuse results after longterm abuse.
The victim is pushed beyond their limits.
When the victim behaves similar to their abuser, the abuser uses this to shame the victim. This is referred to as gaslighting.
The abuser is able to emotionally manipulate the victim because of the shame the victim carries.
Out of frustration, the victim may use shouting, screaming, yelling insults or throwing things to protect themselves.
The abuser uses the victim’s behaviour to expose them to people on the outside. Because this behaviour goes against the victim’s true character, the people on the outside and the victim themselves are left confused.
