What creates a relationship where two people feel emotionally safe to share their innermost feelings

What creates a relationship where two people feel emotionally safe to share their innermost feelings?

When two people have created a safe place for communication in their relationship then each person feels emotionally safe to tell the other how they feel.

This needs to be cultivated from the beginning of the relationship and carried over throughout the relationship every day. When two people have respect and unconditional love for each other this is possible.

In a healthy relationship, a couple can navigate their way through conflict without one person storming off, or one person always backing down.

A healthy relationship is where two people consider the other person’s perspective and reach a compromise.

In a healthy relationship each person can share with their partner when they need more or less from their partner without their partner becoming defensive, deflecting, justifying, blaming, critical, contemptuous or stone walling.

Healthy communication creates a strong emotional bond between two people. Strong friendships are formed emotionally and physically.

If this doesn’t sound like your relationship it isn’t too late to learn new skills and turn your relationship around.
