Why is quality time important, and what does quality time look like?
Relationships thrive on time together alone whether it be watching a fun movie together at home with takeaway while the children are asleep to going out to the movies, a cafe, a restaurant, a walk along the beach, time away for a weekend, long country drives etc.
It is important to take time out together on a regular basis. Without spending quality time together, the relationship can go stale and you begin to take each other for granted.
Quality time builds on friendship, emotional and physical connection and even trust.
Many couples put their children, work and life ahead of their relationship.
At first they put aside quality time for a week, then a month until a few years have slipped by with no quality time made for the relationship. By this time the couple have grown distant from each other and they feel like flatmates raising children. They no longer have anything in common and wonder why they are still together.
Quality time needs to happen once a week on a day and time suitable for both people.
When a couple decides on doing something special together every week, it gives them something to look forward to at the end of a busy week and it gives them the opportunity to recharge as a couple.
