How Children Cope With Parents Separation

When parents separate children are the ones who are caught in the middle. They no longer have access to both parents when they need them. Everything that was once stable becomes uncertain and surrounďed by fear.

They can’t express or process these fears except through dysfunctional behavioir or grief.

They might go from explosive behaviour to isolating themselves from family.

They may change from confident children playing all the time to asking for help in completing simple tasks.

If there is a partner on the scene, this will add to your childs insecurity. Your child may even voice they never want you to date again.

If this sounds like your child, I can provide supportive and compassionate counselling for your child and provide tools to support this transition.
