Would you recognise if your partner was emotionally unavailable?
These are the signs of a partner who is emotionally unavailable.
Your partner does not validate your feelings or if you are generally talking to him on a subject.
Your partner is distant, paranoid, inconsistent, and puts their goals, interests, wants and needs first.
You feel like you are the one doing the giving.
When you try to have a conversation with them they don’t converse, acknowledge or appear interested.
They may go as far as even ignoring you, while continuing to appear “busy”.
They may avoid deep conversations, or avoid including you in personal decisions.
You try to connect emotionally but get nothing back.
You feel alone and become independent, doing activities without them.
When a person is struggling with depression they can also pull away and become emotionally unavailable.
You might be feeling emotionally unsafe around your partner because they are no longer emotionally connecting. This can feel lonely and make you feel unsure about the future.
