Love in the Shadows of Exhaustion

Marriage and relationship begin with laughter and energy. Things are often easy between you. As life goes on, relationship can get messy because of the toll of accumulated responsibilities – long work hours, children, bills piling up, and even those dreaded maintenance around the home.

It feels like love has disappeared, but it’s just exhaustion that has taken the place of love.

Exhaustion takes over from affection and intimacy. A husband feels his efforts of hard work is his way of showing love, while his wife is needing that emotional connection that is missing in the relationship.

Both are lonely and feeling unseen.

Both are wanting the same thing – to feel appreciated and valued.

Exhaustion and emotional distance are not signs of failure. These are the normal common challenges in long term relationships.

“You are not alone. Many couples have walked through this and found their way back. All is not lost. “
